I’m a bit late to the party, but a few weeks ago Aberdeen once again hosted a leg of the Tall Ships Race, something I didn’t know existed before they started advertising. The last time Aberdeen hosted was in 1997, and everyone was very excited to have it come back, with 4 days of boats and events planned for the Weekend.

With ships from all over the world, both large and small there was something for everyone! And that’s before you get to the many food and other vendors lining the harbour, and the many other events such as the Quayside concerts that were taking place during the event.

I ended up going on the Sunday morning with some friends, had a lovely few hours admiring the ships and then we went to get food at Taste of Hong Kong, which was as excellent as always.
I ended up getting a ticket to one of the concerts on the Sunday night, to see Calum Bowie and Tidelines, and as always live music was excellent even if I hadn’t listened to either band before that morning.
