Spectra 2026

Its once again that time of year, Spectra has returned to Aberdeen! I always love the lights festival and endeavour to go at least twice if I can, just to experience it all properly. This year I was even invited to an LNER launch event on the Thursday evening through the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, where we got to hear some of the organisers speak! There was also a delightful buffet, some free drinks and a goodie bag with some treats in it.

The main attraction however was Union Terrace Gardens decorated in fire, a lot of fire! There was even a place to get marshmallows toasted.

The next big thing as always was inside the Art Gallery, where there was a kinetic sculpture of some kind in the central hall

And some lamps I’d really like for my living room

The final proper stop was St. Nicholas Kirk Cemetery, where they had put up lots of flowers, and some hearts.

I also managed to get pictures of some of the smaller bits around Marischal College such as the black and white blow up fox, and laser reflectors
