I had a lovely weekend in Thurso, I went along with the Bon Accord Camera Club. The weather was changeable but I definitely made the most of it! The first day was a west ward trip, including Bettyhill, and Torrisdale Beach, Portskerra and Melvich Beach.
Bettyhill
A lovely wee town, I ended up even getting to see the monthly Saturday market and get some lovely Salami and Cake!

Portskerra Harbour and Melvich Beach
A stop in two parts, first the very windy, but also very pretty Portskerra Harbour. Followed by a very short drive to Melvich Beach to see the dunes and Bighouse.

Exploring Thurso
I also tried to actually explore Thurso once I’d gotten back to the hotel so

Castletown and Flagstones
Day 2 I went Eastward, and with the weather against me I tried to see as much as I could. I did manage to get to see a lot of new stuff, as well as revisit some old ones, but sadly by 1pm it had started bucketing down so I had to hide in John O’Groats. I started by visiting Castletown and the Flagstone Heritage Centre and it’s Harbour

Castle Sinclair and Noss Head
Followed by a quick trip through Wick, and past it’s Airport to Castle Sinclair-Girnogie and Noss Head Lighthouse where the rain first started.

Keiss Harbour and Keiss Castle
I’d been to Castle Sinclair before, and it was a brilliant trip again, and the same is true for Keiss and it’s incredibly cute harbour and castle ruins, although I didn’t trek out to them this time, deciding to take pictures from afar, and even spotted a big warship

Misc.
There are also a bunch of photos I took that don’t really go in any category, including some Highland Cows, and a trio of lovely cars I tried to take product photos of, with some success as well as the rain I didn’t manage to avoid on my Sunday night sojourn out to Thurso.

Homeward Bound
Whilst I blitzed the journey up in a bit over 5 hours, the same cannot be said for the way down where I took my sweet time and stopped a lot, first in Wick and it’s Old Castle

Followed by Lybster Harbour, a stop in Golspie for lunch and a quick photo opportunity up the Cromarty Firth before I was in Inverness.

I then turned away from the fast road home and took the back roads home via Carrbridge – which has a truly fabulous bridge! I also discovered some lovely artwork, ‘Still’, and after many hours of driving I’d made it home!

Hope you all enjoyed the photos, just straight from Camera, I’ll try add some edited ones soon as well 🙂
